The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Grainger High Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Alyssa M. Tilghman of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School, is currently enrolled in the Radiography program. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has received the Coaches Award in Varsity Tennis. Her future plans are to specialize in MRI and CT. Alyssa is the daughter of Gary and Pam Tilghman.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Frank and Sandra Brooks Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Lauren E. Morgan of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School, is currently enrolled in the Graphic Design program. She is a member of the Avid Program and her future plans are to major in Graphic Design as well as Journalism and Photography. Lauren is the daughter of Clifton Earl Morgan, Jr. and Lisa Chapman Morgan.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Greene County Merit Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Michael B. Piner of La Grange, a graduate of Greene Central High School, is currently enrolled in the Welding Technology program. He has received the American Welding Society Foundation Award, has been named into the Honor Roll, and is a Ram Scholar. His future plans are to obtain a degree in welding and become and Inspector. Michael is the son of Michael R. Piner, Jr. and Angela S. Piner.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Southwest Christian Church Memorial Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Kayla E. Deaver of Deep Run, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Nursing program. She is a member of the National Honor Society, President of Health Occupations Students of America, and is a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to earn a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Nursing. Kayla is the daughter of Jeff and Stacy Deaver.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Billy C. White Memorial/Exchange Club Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:
                                                                                         
John T. Varnell of Kinston, a graduate of Bethel Christian Academy, plans to receive an associate’s degree from Lenoir Community College and then transfer to a four year university to further his education. John is the son of Martin S. Varnell.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Hodges Family Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Houston W. Davis of Deep Run, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Music and Music Education program. He is a member of the National Honor Society, South Lenoir Singers, and a Deep Run Ruritan Jr. member. He has received the Bible Award, Christian Testimony Trophy, and Trojan Trophy. His future plans are to transfer to Western Carolina University to major in music with a concentration in Recording Arts. Houston is the son of Harvey and Linda Tyndall. 

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Albert Lionel Garner Memorial Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Jacorian J. Callier of Havelock, a graduate of Havelock High School, is currently enrolled in the Business Management program. He has been named into the Honor Roll List and Principal’s List. His future plans are to transfer to a four year university to continue his education in Business. Jacorian is the son of Gregory and Camislia Callier.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Martha Wooten Kallam/Arc of Lenoir County Memorial Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Thomas R. Hardison of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Polysomnography program. He was a competitive event finalist in Nurse Assisting at HOSA Regional. Thomas is the son of Tommy and Jennifer Hardison.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Robert James (Jimmy) Sutton, Jr. Memorial Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Kaitlin L. Green of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Communications program. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has served as Senior Class Co-President, DECA President, and DECA Vice President. She was also the first runner up of the Lenoir County Jr. Miss. Her future plans are to transfer to UNC-Wilmington and major in Communications. Kaitlin is the daughter of Richy S. Huneycutt and Gary Green.   

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Greene County Merit Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Jalisa R. Isler of Snow Hill, a graduate of Greene Central High School, is currently enrolled in the Nursing program. She is a member of the National Beta Club and the National Spanish Honor Society. She is also a National Academic Scholar. Her future plans are to become a Registered Nurse and attend East Carolina University to obtain a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Then become a certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Jalisa is the daughter of Edna and Clevon Pittman.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Lisa N. Jones of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Nursing program. She is a member of HOSA and FCCLA. Her future plans are to obtain her BSN from a four year university. Lisa is the daughter of Peggy and Roger Jones.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the W. Foster and Mary L. Gurley Memorial Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Kayla L. Melvin of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the 2+2 Engineering program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and has been named into the Dean’s List. She is also a previous recipient of the W. Foster and Mary L. Gurley Memorial Scholarship. Her future plans are to attend North Carolina State University and finish her computer and electrical engineering degrees. Kayla is the daughter of Greg and Lori Melvin.

Jordan E. Grimes of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Liberal Arts transfer program. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and has served as Vice President of the LCC SGA. He is also an Academic Scholar and the recipient of the James Robinson Scholarship, Tri County Scholarship, and a previous recipient of the W. Foster and Mary L. Gurley Memorial Scholarship. His future plans are to attend a four year university and complete a degree in Communications. Jordan is the son of David and Deborah Grimes.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Southwest Christian Church, Jerry Z. and Effie C. Sutton Memorial Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:
                                                                                         
Stephanie M. Jones of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Accounting program. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has received the Earth Science Award and Academic Letters. Her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Stephanie is the daughter of Audrey and Donald Jones.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Fodie H. Hodges Memorial Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Victoria G. Cottle of Albertson, a graduate of East Duplin High School, is currently enrolled in the Medical Assisting program. She is a member of the National Art Honor Society, the National Technical Honors Society, and the National Society of High School Scholars. She is also a recipient of the Rachel Hatch Scholarship. Her future plans are to obtain her degree in Medical Assisting and a degree in Radiography. Victoria is the daughter of Ronny and Joan Cottle.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Jessica B. Kennedy of La Grange, a graduate of North Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Dental Hygiene program. She is a member of HOSA and the Art Club. She has received the All-Conference Award in volleyball and the Coach’s Award in softball. Jessica is the daughter of Kendra and Steve Warren of La Grange and Tim and Julie Kennedy of Beulaville.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Jones County EMC Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Lindsay A. Moore of Trenton, a graduate of Jones Senior High School, is currently enrolled in the Graphic Design program. She is the recipient of the PICA Award and her future plans are to transfer to a four year university after the completion of her degree at Lenoir Community College. Lindsay is the daughter of Jimmy and Donna Moore.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Henry A. and Lucile Reed Edwards Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Joshua A. Andrews of La Grange, a graduate of North Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Computer Engineering program. He is an AB Honor Roll student and also a North Carolina Scholar. His future plans are to attend East Carolina University to obtain his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering. Joshua is the son of Monica and Jay King and Tony and Phylis Andrews.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follow:

William C. Bean of Pink Hill, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts program. His future plans are to transfer to a four year university. William is the son of Marion Neal and Donna Bean.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the W. Foster and Mary L. Gurley Memorial Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Lauran R. Herring of La Grange, a graduate of North Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Liberal Arts transfer program.   She is a member of the National Honor Society, a North Lenoir Hall of Fame Member for cultural arts and citizenship, a Lenoir County Junior Miss talent preliminary, and Be Your Best Self award winner. Her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University.  Lauran is the daughter of David and Pam Herring.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Richard Vance Surles Memorial Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

 Jami B. Taylor of Pink Hill, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Cosmetology program. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is a North Carolina Academic Scholar. Her future plans are to complete both the Cosmetology and Esthetics programs at LCC.  Jami is the daughter of James and Deanna Taylor.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Faculty Memorial/NLHS/PTO Technical Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Kristi M. Wiley of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Nursing program. She is a recipient of the Betsy Vick Memorial Girl Scout Scholarship, Girl Scout Gold and Silver Awards, Girl Scout US Heritage Award, and also received the North Lenoir High School Academic Honors Award. Her future plans are to receive her Associates Degree in Nursing and then transfer to a university to pursue a Master’s Degree in Nursing. Kristi is the daughter of Bill Ray and Susan S. Wiley.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Brody Brothers’ Foundation Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Matthew J. Formy-Duval of Grifton, a graduate of North Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Education program. He is also the recipient of the Contentnea/Ruritan Scholarship. His future plans are to transfer to North Carolina State University to receive a teaching degree in History and minor in Religion. Matthew is the son of Jody and Sharon Formy-Duval.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Anonymous Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:
                                                                                         
Elizabeth A. Grady of Deep Run, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Radiology program. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the recipient of the Masonic Lodge Scholarship, Art Department Award, and Sports Marketing Award. Her future plans are to further her education in Radiography. Elizabeth is the granddaughter of Judy and Willand Grady and Harvey and Mary Catherine Grady.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Lonnie H. and Betty B. Blizzard Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Belinda A. Curington of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School, is currently enrolled in the Nursing program. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has received both Academic and Athletic letters. Her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University’s School of Nursing. Belinda is the daughter of Sandra Curington.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Richard and Edna Whaley Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Jonathan A. Nethercutt of Pink Hill, a graduate of East Duplin High School, is currently enrolled in Technology Teacher program. He placed second at the state level for the East Duplin Technology Student Association in the event of Music Production. He has also received the Austin Carter Award and has lettered in athletics. He has been named into Who’s Who Among American High School Students. His future plans are to transfer to North Carolina State University. Jonathan is the son of Jason Graham and Dannah Bohler Nethercutt.

The LCC Foundation, Inc. awarded the Henry A. and Lucile Reed Edwards Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall as follows:

Derek K. Hamm of Snow Hill, a graduate of Mount Calvary Christian Academy, is currently enrolled in the Liberal Arts transfer program. He has received the Highest Average for all four years of high school, the Woodmen of the World American History Award, the U.S. Achievement Academy Award, the Scholars Award, and many more. He is a member of the National Christian Honor Society. His future plans are to transfer to Barton College in Wilson, NC to pursue a computer or social studies degree. Derek is the son of Billy and Denise Hamm.

 
LCC Foundation Awards Scholarships

The Anne E. and William B. Wallace, Jr. Scholarship was awarded to Lisa B. Garner of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the nursing program. She is the N.C. Nurse Scholars Recipient and has also received the Teacher of the Year Award. Her future plans are to work as an RN at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. She is the wife of Steve Garner, Jr. and the daughter of Pat and Billy Brown.

The Kinston Jaycees Scholarship was awarded to Danielle J. Jarman of La Grange, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the cosmetology program. She has been the recipient of the Swimsuit and Miss Congeniality award for Miss Kinston 2008, the second runner up for Miss Eastern Carolina 2009, and has been named to the Dean’s List. Her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to obtain a double major in Elementary Education and Dance Education. She is the daughter of Rich and Robin Jarman.

The James (Jamie) H. Tripp Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Megan E. Burris of Kinston, a graduate of Westminster/Oscar Smith High School. She is currently enrolled in the Automotive Program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and has been named to the President’s List. Her future plans are to obtain a Master Certification. She is the daughter of Patricia and Glenn Burris.

The Grainger High Class of 1964 Scholarship was awarded to Erick J. Edwards of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School. He is currently enrolled in the 2+2 Engineering Program. He has been LCC’s March Student of the Month and his future plans are to transfer to North Carolina State University to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering and eventually obtain his Master’s and Ph.D. He is the son of Rowena Jones.

The Mark and Rena Norcross Scholarship was awarded to John T. Reid, Jr. of Snow Hill, a graduate of Goldsboro High School, is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts Program. He has been named to the Dean’s List and his future plans are to continue his education at East Carolina University in the fields of Psychology and Sociology.

The John Hood Brewer Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Donna K. Stroud of Deep Run, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Elementary Education Teacher Program. She has been awarded the Aaron Johnson Scholarship by Southwood Memorial Christian Church. Her future plans are to receive her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. She is the wife of Johnny Stroud.

The E. Merle Edwards Scholarship was awarded to Amanda N. Joyner of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Radiography Program. She has been named to the Dean’s List and Who’s Who List and has received the Academic Excellence award. She is the daughter of Raymond and Debbie Joyner.

The Henry H. and Vera F. Bullock Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Mary E. Holleman of Deep Run, a graduate of Penn Foster High School. She is currently enrolled in the Biology and Biology Education program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and has been named to the President’s List. Her future plans are to graduate with a double major from LCC. She hopes to transfer to North Carolina State University to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science and eventually attend NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine. She is the daughter of Victor and Marcina Holleman.

The Sparbel Scholarship was awarded to Barbara A. Crumbacker of Kinston, a graduate of Hillside High School. She is currently enrolled in the nursing program. She has been a Student Leadership Institute participant, a Student Government Association Treasurer, and has been a nominee of the Gov. Robert W. Scott Leadership Award. Her future plans are to obtain her Master’s Degree in nursing. She is the wife of Richard Crumbacker.

The Henry A. and Lucile Reed Edwards Scholarship was awarded to Lisa C. Lee of Albertson, a graduate of Olympus High School. She is currently enrolled in the Medical Office Administration program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an All American Scholar, and has been named to the Who’s Who list. Her future plans are to further her studies in Office Technology. She is the wife of Lewis W. Lee.

The Lynwood C. Turner Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Alex R. Casey, III of Goldsboro, a graduate of Spring Creek High School. He is currently enrolled in the Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering program. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, has been named to the President’s and Dean’s Lists, and has been the recipient of the Coca-Cola Scholarship and the Schechter Scholarship. His future plans are to transfer to North Carolina State University and obtain his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is the son of Alex R. Casey, Jr. and Kay O. Casey.

The Lenoir Community College Foundation, Inc. awarded the Kathryne C. Hankins Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall to Kathryn T. Neanover of Midway Park, a graduate of White Oak High School. She is currently enrolled in the Landscape Technician program. She was a White Oak FFA Officer and her future plans are to further her education at North Carolina State University. She is the daughter of Stephanie Emperley and granddaughter of Kathy Emperley.

The C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship for 2009-2010 was awarded to Shelia L. Wiggins of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Medical Office Administration program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an All American Scholar, and the recipient of the Minority Leadership award. Her future plans are to further her education at East Carolina University to receive he Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Maintenance. She is the wife of Corey Wiggins.

The Glenn F. and Joyce Gilbert Cherry Scholarship for 2009-2010 was awarded to Tiffany M. Haas of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Music Education program. Her future plans are to transfer to a four-year university. She is the daughter of Richard and Felicia Haas.

The Margaret Blount Harvey Early Childhood Education Scholarship was awarded to Amanda N. Potter of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Early Childhood Education program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and an All American Scholar. Her future plans are to obtain her four year degree. She is the wife of Sherman Potter; mother of Ricky Grady and Dustin Potter; and daughter of Randy and Sue Williams and the late Richard Noble.

The Jones County EMC Scholarship was awarded to David A. Atkinson of Pollocksville, a graduate of Jones Senior High School. He is currently enrolled in the Graphic Design Program. He is a member of the National Honor Society, N.C. Scholar, and the Salutatorian of his graduating class. His future plans are to transfer to the Art Institute in Seattle, Washington. He is the son of Richard and Cynthia Atkinson.

The Lenoir Community College Foundation, Inc. awarded the Davis Wholesale Tire Scholarship for 2009-2010 to attend LCC this fall to Jason D. Smith of Deep Run, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts program. He has been named to the President’s List and his future plans are to obtain his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Biology from East Carolina University. He is married to Emily A. Smith.

The Eloise C. and Harvey E. Beech Scholarship for 2009-2010 was awarded to Angela F. Harris of Grifton, a graduate of Cross High School. She is currently enrolled in the Horticulture program. She has been named to the Dean’s List and her future plans are to receive a Master’s Degree in Social Work or in Family Child Therapy. She is the daughter of Elias and Willie Mae Dingle.

The Irma J. and Dr. C.B. Randall Scholarship for 2009-2010 was awarded to Katie C. Moody of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Radiology program. Her future plans are to specialize in nuclear medicine or CT and MRI. Moody is the daughter of Allen and Sue Moody.

The Joseph Keith Williams Memorial Scholarship for 2009-2010 was awarded to Matthew J. Stillwell of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts Program. He is an active Eagle Scout and president of the FFA. He has also received the FFA Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards, and has lettered in academics and golf. His future plans are to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences from North Carolina State University. He is the son of Charles and Lisa Stillwell.

The Jean P. and Peggy Booth Memorial Scholarship for 2009-2010 was awarded to Nikki M. Garner of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Pre-Nursing Program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an All American Scholar, has served as 2009 LCC Graduation Marshall, and has been named to the President’s List. Her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to major in Anesthesiology. She is the daughter of Ricky and Susie Garner.

The Clayton G. (Sonny) Koonce Memorial Scholarship for 2009-2010 was awarded to Michael Paul Whittington of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School. He is currently enrolled in the College Transfer program. He is an active Eagle Scout, a member of FCA, and has lettered in tennis. His future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University and major in Communications. He is the son of Linda Whittington and Mike Whittington.

The Dexter and Dorothy Floyd Scholarship was awarded to Reva M. Sugg of Kinston, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Chemistry and Chemistry Education program. She was named to the National Honor Roll and is a member of the National Honor Society. Her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to obtain her Master’s Degree in Chemistry. She is the daughter of Lisa P. Sugg.

The Eastern North Carolina Bluegrass Association Scholarship was awarded to Lisa M. Gates of Kinston, a graduate of West Craven High School. She is currently enrolled in the nursing program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and her future plans are to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing. She is the daughter of Hilda Wetherington.

The W. Robert and Suzanne S. Bizzell Health Science Scholarship was awarded to Christine Byrd of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School. She is currently enrolled in the nursing program. She has been the recipient of the Health Sciences and Mathematics Scholarship, the LMH Scholarship, and is a Certified Medical Assistant. Her future plans are to attend East Carolina University’s School of Nursing to obtain her BSN and MSN Degrees. She is the daughter of Dorothy M. Byrd and David L. Speller.

The Sol and Pearl Schechter Scholarship was awarded to Jackie L. Herring of La Grange, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts Program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to become a Physical Therapist. She is the daughter of James and Irene Herring.

The Lynwood C. Turner Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Megan L. Johnson of Grifton, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Physical Therapy Program. She has been named to the Dean’s List and her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to obtain her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. She is the daughter of Lott and Debra Johnson.  
Christopher Moss
The Gail G. Grant Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Christopher N. Moss of Snow Hill, a graduate of Greene Central High School. He is currently enrolled in the Automotive Technology Program and is an active Eagle Scout. His future plans are to complete his automotive degree. Moss is married to Jenna M. The Harriet Herring RN Scholarship was awarded to Deana A. Jackson of Mt. Olive, a graduate of East Boston High School. She is currently enrolled in the nursing program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and her future plans are to transfer to attend a four-year university to obtain a Master’s Degree as a Certified Nurse Anesthetist. She is the mother of Jasmine Jackson and Daquon Perry.

The Leroy and Kathryn Pittman Scholarship was awarded to Cyndal D. Wiggins of Kinston, a graduate of Howard Christian Academy. She is currently enrolled in the Radiography program. Her future plans are to transfer to a four-year university to obtain a Master’s Degree in Radiography. She is the daughter of Stephen and Phyllis Howard.

The West Pharmaceutical Services Scholarship was awarded to Jennifer S. Heath of Kinston, a graduate of Bethel Christian Academy. She is currently enrolled in the Elementary Education Program. She has been named to the President’s List and her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. She is the daughter of Bonne L. Heath and Ronald A Heath.

The E.K. Best, Jr. Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Shemica N. Brown of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School. She is currently enrolled in the Pre-Nursing program. She has been named to the Dean’s List and her future plans are to obtain her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from East Carolina University. She is the daughter of Sylvia Brown and Leslie Brown.

The A. Forrest and Ruth King Waller Scholarship was awarded to Ashley R. Grant of Snow Hill, a graduate of Bethel Christian Academy. She is currently enrolled in the Social Science Secondary Education Program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, has been named to the President’s List, and has been the valedictorian of her graduating class. Her future plans are to obtain her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in History. She is the daughter of Timmy and Debby Grant.

The C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship was awarded to Laura L. Young of Snow Hill, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Art Education Program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and has been named to the President’s and Dean’s Lists. Her future plans are to transfer to a four-year university to obtain her bachelor’s degree.

The Roland L. Paylor, Jr./Robert (R.L.) Joyner Scholarship was awarded to Renee M. Johnson of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School. She is currently enrolled in the Accounting program. She has been the recipient of the E. Merle Edwards Scholarship and her future plans are to attend a four-year university. She is the daughter of Sharon Rodriguez.

The Sol and Pearl Schechter Scholarship was awarded to Robin N. Murray-Aydlett of Stantonsburg, a graduate of Northern Nash Senior High School. She is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts Program. She has been named to the Dean’s List and her future plans are to transfer to UNC-Wilmington to obtain her bachelor’s degree. She is the wife of James C. Aydlett.

The Frances C. Parker Scholarship was awarded to Philip L. Melvin of Stantonsburg, a graduate of Beddingfield High School. He is currently enrolled in the Culinary Arts program. His future plans are to further his education at the Art Institute of America. He is the son of Cathy M. Melvin.

The Kenneth and Gracie Jones Scholarship was awarded to Jonathan C. Hoggard of Colerain, a graduate of Bethel Christian Academy. He is currently enrolled in the Environmental Science Technology Program. He has been named to the Dean’s List and was the salutatorian of his graduating class. His future plans are to seek work in waste water management. He is the son of Ricky L. Hoggard and Charlene W. Hoggard.

Her future plans are to obtain her Master’s Degree in Nursing. She is the wife of Drew E. Bynum and the daughter of Jim and Gerolyn Harrell.

The George C. and Mildred Boney Matthis Scholarship was awarded to Diane L. Riley of Kinston, a graduate of Southern Wayne High School. She is currently enrolled in the Education Program. She is the wife of Vince Riley.

The Kathryn C. Hankins Scholarship was awarded to Valerie K. Perrin of La Grange, a graduate of Decatur Community Junior/Senior High School. She is currently enrolled in the Horticulture program.

The William T. and Imogene Sutton Casey Scholarship was awarded to Tracey S. Kilpatrick of Kinston, a graduate of Bethel Christina Academy. She is currently enrolled in the nursing program. She is a member of the Honor Society and her future plans are to become a Registered Nurse. She is the wife of Nicholas Kilpatrick.

The James C. and Angeline S. Shell Scholarship was awarded to Jon D. Lee of La Grange, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Psychology program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the National Honor Society. Her future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University or UNCW. He is the son of Dorothy and John Lee.

The Jean P. and Peggy Booth Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Mario E. Espinoza of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School. He is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts Program. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and a previous recipient of the M.E. “Zeke” Creech Scholarship. His future plans are to attend UNC Chapel Hill and continue his studies of the Hispanic language, culture, and politics. Eventually hopes to attain a Master’s and Ph.D. in Spanish. He is the son of Zulay Redondo and Mario Espinoza, Sr.

The Moss Hill Ruritan Club Scholarship was awarded to Elmer (Trey) B. Smith of Kinston, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Physical Education program. He has lettered in academics, has received the All Conference Baseball Award, the Heart of a Champion Award, and is a member of the National Honor Society. His future plans are to transfer to a four-year university. He is the son of Bryan Smith and Wendy and Billy Sutton.

The Sarah Peedin Rose Scholarship was awarded to Jonathan R. Wiggins of La Grange, a graduate of North Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Associate in Arts Program. He is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, a previous recipient of the Jesse L. and Joyce P. McDaniel Scholarship, and has been named to the Dean’s List. His future plans are to transfer to East Carolina University to further his education. He is the son of Douglas and Jackie Wiggins.

His future plans are to transfer to a four-year university and major in business. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Kennedy.

The Brody Brothers’ Foundation Scholarship was awarded to Amanda J. Baker of Pink Hill, a graduate of Dickson High School. She is currently enrolled in the Social Work Program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, an All American Scholar, and has been named to the President’s and Dean’s Lists. His future plans are to attend East Carolina University’s School of Social Work. She is the wife of Graham Kyle Baker.

The Leroy and Blanche Taylor Scholarship was awarded to Kristen M. Lane of Kinston, a graduate of West Craven High School. She is currently enrolled in the nursing program. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa, the SGA Senator, and All American Scholar, and has been named to the Dean’s List. Her future plans are to become a Nurse Practitioner. She is the daughter of Sarah Lane.

The C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship was awarded to Amy N. Spear of Trenton, a graduate of Fuquay-Varina High School. She is currently enrolled in the Criminal Justice program. She has been LCC’s April Student of the Month and has served as the Secretary for the SGA. Her future plans are to attend Fayetteville State University to receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and minor in Forensic Science. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Spear.

The C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship was awarded to Samuel C. Knowles of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School. He is currently enrolled in the Criminal Justice program. He is the husband of Chanel Knowles and the father of A.J., Alyssa, and Ashley.  His future plans are to complete his two-year degree at LCC, then transfer to a four-year college to major in criminal justice.

The Roland L. Paylor, Jr./Robert (R.L.) Joyner Scholarship was awarded to Anthony F. Hicks of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School. He is currently enrolled in the Culinary Technology Program. He has received the Honorable Mention for the Diversity Essay conducted at LCC. His future plans are to further his education at a four-year university and start his own catering business. He is the son of Jacqueline D. Flower and the late Kenneth Phillips.

The John C. and Scarlett Howard Scholarship was awarded to Justin A. Byrd of Deep Run, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Criminal Justice program. He has been the recipient of the Oliver and Ann Smith Scholarship and the Mayor and Mrs. O.A. (Buddy) Ritch Scholarship. His future plans are to transfer to Fayetteville State University to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He is the son of Rusty and Shirley Byrd.

The Mildred Dare Blizzard Scholarship was awarded to Rebecca R. Petty of Swansboro, a graduate of Bethel Christian Academy. She is currently enrolled in the History program. She has served as Vice President of Honor Society and President of Student Leadership. Her future plans are to transfer to a four-year university and obtain a degree in education. She is the daughter of Steve and Teresa Petty.

The Isaac C., Frances, Marietta, and Rachel Whitfield Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Brittany N. Byrd of Deep Run, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Dental Hygiene Program. She is a member of the National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Tommy and Bobbie Byrd.

The Dr. Frank Rocker, Jr. Scholarship was awarded Caleb J. Ard of Pink Hill, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Criminal Justice program. He has been named to the President’s List and his future plans are to attend North Carolina State University to major in Criminology. He is the son of Joe and Billie Ard.

The C. Felix Harvey, Sr. Scholarship was awarded to Brandon E. Clayton of Mt. Olive, a graduate of East Duplin High School. He is currently enrolled in the Electrical Engineering program. His future plans are to transfer to North Carolina State University to obtain his Electrical Engineering Degree. He is the son of Greg and Sharon Goff.

The Gaines Barrett (Barry) Huneycutt, Jr. Scholarship was awarded to Jeremy D. Falkowski of Pink Hill, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. He is currently enrolled in the Criminal Justice program. He has been the recipient of the Kyoshi Award for outstanding martial arts and a N.C. Science Olympiad event leader. His future plans are to transfer to Fayetteville State University to further his education.  He is the son of Daniel and Denise Falkowski.

She has been named to the President’s and Dean’s Lists. Her future plans are to become a Certified Public Accountant. She is the daughter of Libby and Timothy Martin.

The Richard Floyd (Rick) Lennon Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Joshua A. Maness of Kinston, a graduate of Kinston High School. He is currently enrolled in the Aviation Management and Career Pilot Technology Program. His future plans are to attend Embry-Riddle Extension in Goldsboro. He is the son of Alex and Beth Maness.

The Branch Banking & Trust Scholarship was awarded to Victoria P. Hill of Pink Hill, a graduate of South Lenoir High School. She is currently enrolled in the Pre-Dental Hygiene program. She has lettered in academics and has been named to the Honor Roll. She is the daughter of David Hill, Terry Hill, Christy Turner, and Michael Turner.
